Mind-Body Oncology

Also known as Psycho-Oncology or PsychoSocial Oncology is a field pioneered by Dr. O. Carl Simonton in 1971 of providing emotional, interpersonal, as well as spirutual (or existential) support to cancer patients and their families. Currently there is large body of evidence that such support improves quality of life, reduces stress associated with the diagnosis and treatment and promotes healing.
